Remove Security Tool

Security Tool, also known as SecurityTool, is one of the most prevalent fake antispyware programs on the Internet. It has infected thousands of computers and the infection has not slowed. Security Tool is installed when users unknowningly download a Trojan virus, visit a malicious website, and/or fake online antimalware websites/banners. Once it is installed, Security Tool will disabe your firewall, antivirus software, and configure itself to automatically scan your computer upon Windows restart. The scan will report that your computer is infected with viruses and malware even though your computer has no infections besides Security Tool. The purpose of this fake report is to pressure you into purchasing a license inorder to remove the “infections.” Do not purchase the license; contact your credit card company immediately if you did so. Security Tool is a scam, however it is a real threat since it leaves your computer vulnerable to other attacks. Follow the instructions below to permanently remove this fake antispyware program off your computer. Here is a screenshot of Securty Tool:

This does not work. Spyware doctor message says “scanning in Safe Mode is not recommended”. Only option is OK. Click OK and it wants to update. But it won’t update. What a vicious circle this suggestion is.

@Harry: You need to boot into Safe Mode with Networking; this way Spyware Doctor can update its threat database.

Ok I have not tried these removal methods but may. I thought that I had gotten rid of this “program” but this may be the reason I have been having problems with my computer running slow. What I was wondering was (I am ashamed to admit)the only way I could figure out how to get into my computer was to give Security Tool my credit card(bank card) number. The next day I contacted the bank and had my card cancelled but not before I was charged $102.90. The bank disputed the charge but they say Security Tool provided evidence that I authorized it. I admit to authorizing $19 but not $103. Is there a way to contact them or someone to get my money back?

This message is for Scott, Once the SecurityTool is in your computer, it will block you from doing anything that you might do to get rid of it. To effectively download this file, you will have to do it in safe mode with networking capabilities.

I am truly hoping it will work for me.

  • I have tried downloading this fix but it won’t let me. that stupid tool warning keeps popping up constantly and it won’t stop. what do i do?

  • Stacey, please boot into Windows Safe Mode with Networking and then visit this site to remove personal security. Instructions for booting into Windows Safe Mode is here.
